July 2nd marks the 50th Anniversary of the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This monumental legislation prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin and sex, and serves as the foundation of ODI's work. To commemorate the history of and the achievements under this landmark bill, VA Acting Secretary Sloan D. Gibson signed a letter showcasing the Department’s civil rights accomplishments, initiatives, and priorities (PDF, Word).
